Dr. Al Sassoon is a board certified obstetrician/gynecologist who has over 30 years experience in all aspects of his field from prenatal care, infertility and high-risk pregnancies to menopause, hysterectomies and endometriosis. Each year he accomplishes the necessary steps to receive his recertification in obstetrics and gynecology. He also maintains his license to practice in New York as well as Connecticut.

Dr. Sassoon graduated from New York Medical College, and completed his internship and residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City with honors and outstanding accomplishments. After graduation, he was given admitting privileges as a Full Attending and became the Director of Education for Medical Students in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He also served as both the Director of Ob/Gyn Clinics at Lenox Hill and the Assistant to the Director of Residents Training for 10 years.

His first 25-years post residency were in Manhattan, as part of a group practice. In 2006, he decided to move into a solo practice on Park Avenue. In his private concierge medical practice, Dr. Sassoon has been able to provide customized care to each of his patients using Lenox Hill Hospital as his top choice for all his deliveries and surgical procedures.

In 1994, Dr. Sassoon decided to further his education and went on to attend Columbia University where he received his Masters of Public Health, which has helped reinforce certain aspects of his practice.

Dr. Sassoon’s past and present societies and professional memberships include: New York County Medical Society as well as the Westchester County Medical Society, The New York Gynecologic Society and the Hugh R.K. Barber Alumni Society where he was President. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist.
